I have fine hair, and nothing will change that, but this thickening product at least helps. It is to be used on wet hair as it is styled. It does not work miracles -- I still have fine hair, and I always will, but the Forte product added some volume and manageability which is exactly what I was looking for, AND it is a pump NOT an aerosol (like most products in this category) so that was a big plus for me.
